SkinPen® Microneedling is a professional skin rejuvenation treatment designed to support your skin’s natural repair process by creating controlled microchannels within the skin. This treatment helps stimulate collagen and elastin production, improving the appearance of skin texture, tone, fine lines, enlarged pores, acne scarring, and overall skin quality over time.

At Aspiring Aesthetics, microneedling is performed using the SkinPen® device only to ensure a consistent, professional treatment experience. Treatments are ideal for clients looking to improve skin smoothness, firmness, and overall radiance. Microneedling can be used as a stand-alone treatment, but it is also complementary to other skin and biostimulatory modalities such as NatraLift, chemical peels, and high-quality daily skin care products.

What to Expect:

First: 

Your provider will review your skin history, current skin care routine, recent treatments, and treatment goals to determine whether microneedling is appropriate for you.

Next: 

A topical numbing cream will be applied prior to treatment to help keep you comfortable during the procedure. (if you have added PRP to your procedure your provider - While you are numbing, a small blood sample will be drawn and prepared to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the remaining blood components.) Once your skin is properly prepared, the SkinPen® device will be used to create controlled microchannels in the treatment area.

After treatment, your skin may appear red, warm, or feel similar to a mild sunburn. This is expected and typically improves over the next few days, with most clients returning to normal the next day. Your provider will review aftercare instructions and recommend high-quality, clean skin care products to help support healing and promote optimal improvement.

To keep the skin clean, allow proper healing, and reduce the risk of irritation or infection, clients should avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours after treatment.

Because collagen stimulation takes time, visible improvement develops gradually. For routine maintenance, occasional treatments may be appropriate. If the goal is to treat concerns beyond routine maintenance, such as texture, acne scarring, fine lines, or more noticeable skin quality changes, a series of 3 or more treatments is typically recommended depending on your skin concerns, age, skin quality, and overall goals.

Pre-Treatment Requirements — IMPORTANT

Clients must discontinue Retinol, Vitamin A products, and AHA exfoliating products at least 24 hours prior to treatment. This includes products containing glycolic acid, lactic acid, mandelic acid, or similar exfoliating acids.

Microneedling cannot be performed if you have taken isotretinoin, commonly known as Accutane®, within the last 6 months.

Please arrive with clean skin and avoid applying active skin care products immediately before your appointment unless otherwise directed.

Treatment Time:

Treatment appointments are approximately 45 minutes to allow enough time for consultation, skin preparation, treatment, and follow-up education.
